Two aspects of one archetype

Angels, as beings of light from celestial heights and serpents, as symbols of the dark earth powers of renewal are, as opposites, linked through the archetype of spiralling infinity. Together they denote the descending and ascending life principle, that takes its origin in the divine circle of the beginning and which unites them both again at the end of time. These archetypes, as opposites essentially one, are found in numerous European traditions.
